Manchester-based Company Chameleon bring a compelling double-bill of dance to HOME.
A great chance to catch one of Manchester’s award-winning dance companies on home turf, with two socially engaged works at HOME this February.
Obscura is a bold double-bill from Manchester’s award-winning Company Chameleon, bringing together two powerful works that explore what’s hidden within ourselves and within society. Happening at HOME Manchester, the evening moves between shadow and exposure, intimacy and urgency, showcasing Chameleon’s athletic, emotionally charged approach to contemporary dance.
The programme pairs Umbra, a searching exploration of the parts of ourselves we keep out of sight, with Refuse, a visceral work inspired by Géricault’s The Raft of the Medusa that confronts themes of migration, asylum and displacement. Together, the two pieces create an evening of socially engaged dance, and a superb chance to see one of Manchester’s most acclaimed contemporary companies performing on home turf.
6 February. Tickets from £15.00.
